Will a Low Carb Diet make me feel tired?
If you stick to a low carb diet for
any given time…yes you will more than likely feel tired and
lack energy. The reason is because our bodies’ main source
of fuel comes from carbohydrates. Eating a low carb diet over a
long period of time will lead to a lack of vitamins,
dietary fiber and minerals the body needs for maximum energy.
Sticking to a low carb diet could certainly lead to kidney,
liver and bone problems in the long term.
The American
Heart association has also suggested that the high saturated
fat intake in other food sources can lead to heart disease
if you were to stay on the low carb diet for a length of time.
In the short
term, people who go on the low carb diet will lose weight and
quickly. However, the initial weight loss that comes with a
low carb diet is usually water and muscle tissue and not the
fat that you’d hoped for. Muscle loss is the last thing you
want as loss of muscle tissue will slow down your metabolism
and eventually when you come off the low carb diet, it will be
even harder to lose weight!
At the end
of the day, yes a low carb diet will make you feel tired.
It’s like trying to run a high performance car on mower motor
fuel. You won’t get the milage!
